Cookie Policy

Last Updated: 22nd May 2018

This cookie notice explains how Cobweb Solutions Limited (“Cobweb”, “we”, “us”, and “ours”) use cookies and similar technologies to recognise you when you visit our site. It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a site. Cookies are widely used by site owners in order to make their sites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.

Cookies set by us are called “first party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than us are called “third-party cookies”. Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the site (e.g. like advertising, interactive content and analytics). The parties that set these third-party cookies can recognise your computer both when it visits the site in question and also when it visits certain other sites.

Why do we use cookies?

Cobweb and our analytics provider, use technologies such as first and third-party cookies, beacons, tags, and scripts, to analyse trends, administer the site, tracking users’ movements around the site, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We may receive reports based on the use of these technologies by these companies on an individual and aggregated basis. For more information on technologies that are not cookies (such as web beacons), please see below under the heading “Other Tracking Technologies”.

The specific types of first and third-party cookies served through our site and the purposes they perform are described in the table below:

Other Tracking Technologies

As mentioned above, Cookies are not the only way to recognise or track visitors to a site. We may use other, similar technologies from time to time, like web beacons (sometimes called “tracking pixels” or “clear gifs”). These are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enable us to recognise when someone has visited our site. This allows us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users from one page within our site to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to our site from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party site, and to improve site performance. In many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly, and so declining cookies will impair their functioning.

Analytics / Log Files

As is true of most sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and click-stream data.

We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyse trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.

We do link some of this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information. This allows us to deliver a better experience by reducing the amount of data that needs to be entered when filling out forms, downloading gated content, completing surveys, etc.

We use Google Analytics to analyse the use of this site. Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about site usage by means of cookies, which are stored on users’ computers. The information generated relating to our site is used to create reports about the use of the site. Google will store this information.

Read Google’s Privacy Policy.

Behavioural Targeting/ Re-Targeting

We partner with third party ad networks to either display advertising on our site or to manage our advertising on other sites. Our ad network partner uses cookies and web beacons to collect non-personal information about your activities on this and other sites to provide you targeted advertising based upon your interests. Our ad network partner may also employ technology that is used to measure the effectiveness of advertisements. This can be accomplished by them using cookies or web beacons to collect information about your visits to this and other sites in order to provide relevant advertisements about goods and services of potential interest to you. The information collected through this process does not enable us or them to identify your name, contact details or other personally identifying details unless you choose to provide these.

Social Media (Features) and Widgets

Our site includes social media features, such as the Facebook Like button and Widgets. These Features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our site, and may set a cookie to enable the Feature to function properly. Social Media Features and Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our site. Your interactions with these Features are governed by the privacy notice of the company providing it.

How can I control cookies?
