Migration
Asmodee Group, needed to modernise its legacy Exchange email system following rapid growth and a group-wide merger. The existing on‑premises environment lacked the scalability and integration required to support efficient collaboration across the organisation.
A hybrid migration to Office 365 enabled seamless integration with the wider group tenancy while minimising disruption to users. The move delivered a secure, scalable cloud platform that improved collaboration, simplified management, and supported Asmodee UK’s continued growth.
Asmodee UK is a member of the Asmodee Group, a leading international games publisher and distributor with operations located in Europe, North America, and China. With over 500 employees, Asmodee publishes many of its own games as well as distributing games for many different publishers in different countries.
Their product offering encompasses a wide selection of titles including Final Fantasy, Pokémon, Deadpool, Pandemic, Catan and many more.
Asmodee UK and the wider Asmodee Group are a fast growth company and came to Coretek to help ensure their IT infrastructure would be reliable and scalable enough to service the additional demand generated by their success.
The initial challenge came from the merger between Esdevium Games (now Asmodee UK) and the rest of the Group. Such a merger can be disruptive, with a smooth transition and establishing cohesion between the two different companies essential. A particular consideration was the integrating the separate IT systems to allow staff to collaborate and work together efficiently.
In addition to the merger, the speed of Asmodee UK’s growth led to the company requesting additional guidance over management and support of their IT estate as a whole.
*Coretek were acquired by Cobweb in 2025.
Coretek’s first project for Asmodee was to migrate their legacy on-premise Exchange email server to a cloud-based Office 365 system.
As this would be incorporated within the Asmodee Group tenancy, this would allow the two companies email systems to be integrated seamlessly.
Due to large mailbox sizes, high message counts and a requirement for minimal downtime, a timely migration was a priority.
To provide maximum availability of mail services, an Exchange hybrid migration was selected to minimise disruption of user-facing mail services during the migration.
The resulting migration was delivered with a minimum of disruption to the affected end user. The new Office 365 platform offers multiple advantages over the previous email system including access to O365 cloud based apps and collaboration tools, ease of administration due to the single tenancy, as well as improved security and compliance.
Following on from the successful Office 365 migration, Coretek were asked to take a bigger role in terms of consultancy and support for Asmodee UK.
This involved working closely with the Head of IT and senior management to help plan and implement IT strategy for the company. We also started providing remote and on-site IT support to alleviate the extra workload generated from the company’s continued growth.

Coretek implemented Office 365 in an extremely professional and efficient manner. They guided us every step of the way and the success has led them to work with our group on further migrations across the EU.

– Michaela Keene, Head of IT and Change Control
