As a Microsoft CSP partner, we’re often asked at Cobweb about the benefits of purchasing through a CSP partner – such as Cobweb – as opposed to going direct to Microsoft.
First of all, Microsoft created CSP (Cloud Solution Provider) partners to help strengthen the relationship between the customer and the software provider. The main aim is to make it easier for customers to purchase the solutions and services they need through building a long-term relationship with a vendor they can trust.
CSP partners must therefore commit to providing high quality support and service. They take on the responsibility for owning the relationship with the customer, and must provide efficient and accurate billing along with expert customer support.
Other specific benefits include:
- Migration: a CSP partner doesn’t only sell licences, but provides professional services to ensure smooth, worry-free migration.
- Flexible billing: customers can choose the method of payment – via credit card, direct debit, invoice, or BACS.
- Customers also have access to a wider ecosystem of solutions and services through the partner – and benefit from the value, skills and expertise the partners themselves can bring to the customer’s solution.
Microsoft is committed to developing the CSP partner network. They’ve recently announced the end of the Advisor programme, which was the original partner model set up for selling Office 365, with the expectation that Advisor partners will become CSP partners.
Microsoft has also made changes to product details which point to further support for the CSP programme – for example, and as we recently reported, customers with Windows 10 subscriptions purchased via the Cloud Solution Provider programme can upgrade their Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 PCs and devices to Windows 10 at no extra cost – view news item.
Oliver Nelson, Cobweb Sales Executive, says, “Cobweb was selected by Microsoft to be a CSP partner due to our cloud heritage, skilled cloud experts and support offering. We are going from strength to strength helping our customers utilise cloud not only effectively but, securely.
“Going through Cobweb as a trusted partner instead of simply buying licences direct with Microsoft really makes sense. Purchasing Office 365 services, for example, through Cobweb, gives our customers the confidence and assurance that they will be supported for all requirements.
“Utilising cloud efficiently enables customers to focus on their business and being profitable – not on IT issues.”
