On November 1, Microsoft announced the availability of Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Integrating seamlessly with Office 365, the suite of intelligent business applications is designed to make moving between applications easier, and help enhance employee productivity.
The Dynamics 365 home-screen displays all the business apps and information relevant to an individual or job role. Users can move from one application to another without switching windows and, with one click, connect to Microsoft AppSource to source the most relevant capabilities from hundreds of other business apps from Microsoft partners.
The release creates a better experience for mobile users on Windows, iOS and Android devices, with interoperability with Office 365 apps, including Outlook, Excel and Word, and incorporates developments across Dynamics 365 for Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Project Service Automation, Operations, Marketing and Financials.
Dynamics 365 for Customer Insights is, in addition, a new solution with the ability to associate and analyse data – data sourced from Dynamics 365 and other business applications, as well as from the web, social content, and IoT originating. A 360-degree customer view is created, to include suggestions to improve customer engagement.
Processes for updating to Dynamics 365 remain the same and an update won’t impact on business – and there’s also facility to test integrations pre-update.
Businesses with Dynamics CRM Online will be able to seamlessly transition to Dynamics 365 via the Customer Driven Update (CDU) process which will start scheduling in December 2016.
Transition to Dynamics 365 for Sales, Dynamics 365 for Customer Service, Dynamics 365 for Project Service Automation and Dynamics 365 for Field Service will be based on a business’s current licences.
Businesses with Dynamics CRM on-premise will be able to migrate to Dynamics 365 once the update process is available in December.
Support for existing versions of Dynamics CRM will continue, says Microsoft, as per support lifecycle policy.
Companies with Dynamics AX online will transition to Dynamics 365 for Operations via the December 2016 update. Upgrade and migration paths will be available for businesses using an older release as required, with tools to streamline the migration to Dynamics 365.
Users with Dynamics AX on-premise will have the option to implement Dynamics 365 for Operations in their own datacentres, with Microsoft continuing support for existing versions of Dynamics CRM as per support lifecycle policy.
Participants in Project “Madeira” preview will seamlessly transition to Dynamics 365 for Financials.
“Microsoft Office 365 is further bolstered by the availability of Microsoft Dynamics 365, with customers set to benefit from improved integration between applications and a greater experience for users on the move,” said Vuzion’s managing director, Michael Frisby.
“The common data model across Office 365 and Dynamics 365 provides Vuzion partners with the opportunity to develop innovative new solutions that will help customers unlock the full value of their investment in cloud services.”
