Microsoft Office 365 has some exciting updates scheduled for the month ahead, focusing on enhancing the product overall, as well as creating an even better user experience.
In December 2017 Whiteboard Preview was released, and January 2018 will see the app become available through the Office Store.

This month, Microsoft reports on some significant changes to PowerPoint.
It’s been possible to export presentations to HD videos for a while, but Microsoft has now added the ability to produce a 4K ultra high definition version. As a result, your presentations will continue to look impressive and showcase your ideas as envisaged, regardless of the monitor.
Sway is Microsoft’s digital storytelling app, giving businesses the ability to create professional quality presentations, and updated for January 2018 to deliver a new user interface, so that content creation and preview is much simpler. Two new tabs have been introduced – ‘storyline’ and ‘design’, to enhance even further the potential productivity of the app.
From January 2018, Microsoft’s professional social media platform will have additional reporting features, making group activity analysis simpler, and it easier to assess engagement and optimise campaigns and initiatives, for example. Anyone within the network can access usage metrics (previously found in the admin centre) to see how many members and non-members are active, the number posting, reading, and liking messages, as well as to monitor trends in activity.
Following the recent introduction of a secure external file sharing experience, Microsoft has now launched time-limited, single-use verification codes to accompany email messages for external recipients, enhancing protection for files and folders sent.
Advanced eDiscovery has been designed to help businesses secure the proper protection for and handling of employee and customer data. The January update incorporates a new content import capability to enable documents from outside Office 365 to be uploaded and analysed, facilitating the management of compliance-related content across the business.
