Microsoft's new time management app To-Do now available to preview
Planning the day just got easier, as Microsoft has recently announced an innovative new task-management app, To-Do.
To-Do (which is currently in Preview) has been developed in conjunction with the team behind the popular Wunderlist app. It’s part of the Office 365 suite and makes use of intelligent algorithmic processes in order to simplify task management and workday planning. New features are set to be added in the coming months, including apps for Mac, iPad and Android, list sharing and integrations with other Microsoft services – along with the best of the currently available Wunderlist features – at which point, Wunderlist will be retired.
Everything in one place
To-Do is a dream come true for those of us who have been crying out for an app to help with the organisation of everything from work to daily chores or even relaxation time. The app allows users to keep on top of deadlines with options to add due dates, reminders and notes, with plenty of scope to personalise each list with colour-coded themes.
Lists can be accessed from any device which supports the To-Do app, which realistically means pretty much any device, anywhere.
Planning your day just got smarter
Sometimes it can feel like administrating a daily to-do list can take as much effort as actually completing the tasks in question – which is where To-Do comes in. It helps the user to retain focus and plan the day ahead more effectively.
Each morning, the daily task list starts with a clean slate, providing the user with the opportunity to be more intentional about what needs to be completed by the end of the day.
However, the real jewel in To-Do’s crown is the Intelligent Suggestions feature. Simply tapping on the lightbulb icon will provide the user with a list of tasks from the previous day, alongside tasks pencilled in for future days and other suggestions based on the To-Do algorithm – for example, if liaising with a colleague at a certain time is a regular task, it will show up here as a suggestion. The user simply adds the tasks they expect to complete to their day, and To-Do does the rest in terms of timely reminders.
Office 365 integration
By syncing outlook tasks and allowing the user to access jobs across a variety of different platform, To-Do will undoubtedly be a useful part of the Office 365 arsenal. It’s available via “In Preview” in the Office 365 admin centre now.
