Cloud-based ERP and CRM suite sees users move effortlessly between Office 365 applications
On November 1, Microsoft announced the availability of Microsoft Dynamics 365.
This set of intelligent business applications is designed to seamlessly integrate with the Office 365 software suite, further enable employee productivity and make it easier to move between applications.
In addition to the ability to move from one application to another without switching windows, the Dynamics 365 home-screen will show you all the business apps and information relevant to you or your role. With one click, users can connect to Microsoft AppSource, quickly and easily locating the most relevant capabilities from hundreds of additional business apps from Microsoft partners.
The release also improves the experience for mobile users on Windows, iOS and Android devices, with interoperability with Office 365 apps including Outlook, Excel and Word.
Elsewhere, there have been further enhancements across Dynamics 365 for Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Project Service Automation, Operations, Marketing and Financials.
In addition, Dynamics 365 for Customer Insights is a completely new solution that connects and analyses data from Dynamics 365 – and other business applications, web, social and IoT sources – and applies intelligence to it to create a 360-degree customer view with automatic suggestions to improve customer engagement.
Processes for updating to Dynamics 365 are no different to what they have been in the past, and the update won’t impact business – in fact, you can test integrations before you update.
Dynamics CRM Online customers will seamlessly transition to Dynamics 365 via the Customer Driven Update (CDU) process which starts scheduling in December 2016. Customers will transition to Dynamics 365 for Sales, Dynamics 365 for Customer Service, Dynamics 365 for Project Service Automation and Dynamics 365 for Field Service based on their current licences.
Dynamics CRM on-premise customers can move to Dynamics 365 at any time, once the update is available in December 2016. Microsoft says it will continue to support existing versions of Dynamics CRM per its support lifecycle policy.
Dynamics AX online customers will transition to Dynamics 365 for Operations via the December 2016 update. If you’re using an older release, upgrade and migration paths will be available when you’re ready, along with tools to streamline the path to Dynamics 365.
Meanwhile, Dynamics AX on-premise customers will have the option to deploy Dynamics 365 for Operations in their own datacentres. Again, Microsoft will continue to support existing versions of Dynamics CRM according to its support lifecycle policy.
Participants in Project “Madeira” preview will seamlessly transition to Dynamics 365 for Financials.
