As Skype for Business nears its retirement date – 31 July 2021 – companies are switching to Microsoft Teams, and taking advantage of its additional communication and collaboration features.

And many businesses migrating to Teams are taking the opportunity to do away with their old, traditional phone systems and truly unify their communications, through implementing Microsoft Teams’ complementary cloud telephony solution.

What is Business Voice?

Created for the modern workplace, Business Voice is a cost-effective, all-in-one phone system, integrated into Office 365/Microsoft 365 and Teams to deliver a complete productivity, communication, and collaboration solution for the SMB (up to 300 users).

Business Voice is offered in options within two key plans, to enable businesses to select the set-up to meet their individual requirements.

Microsoft 365 Business Voice (with calling plan) – delivering the complete phone solution, and incorporating the phone system, audio conferencing and domestic calling (available with 1,200 minutes per user, per month within the UK,  pooled for use across users), and with international calling available as an add-on.

Microsoft 365 Business Voice (without calling plan) – incorporating the phone system and audioconferencing features, with three set-up options:

  • With direct routing enabling customers to use their own selected telephony carrier for the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) and calling plan. Cobweb also partners with various telephony providers to deliver this option.

And if you already have a provider, with whom you want to stay – no problem!

  • To continue to be able to use an existing PBX system, handsets and system features, Cobweb’s partner Qunifi’s Call2Teams can connect any PBX phone system to Business Voice.
  • And Qunifi’s Trunk2Teams enables businesses to continue to use an existing call plan.
Why Business Voice?

Cloud-based solutions have become increasingly crucial to enabling business success as remote and hybrid working have become a normal part of working life.

Moving your phone system to Business Voice allows users to call from anywhere, on any connected device through the Microsoft Teams app – on desktop, mobile, web, or desk phone.

Features include dial-in audio conferencing for up to 250 people per meeting, with advanced features offering call transfer, multilevel auto attendants, and call queues, while around-the-clock, seven-days-a-week support is backed by Microsoft.
