As Microsoft Teams grows in popularity, Microsoft are working to ensure that it is the most beneficial to its users with monthly updates – here we look at the latest Teams updates to happen this November:

Company communication with organisation-wide teams

No business has perfect internal communication – distribution lists and company-wide emails sometimes don’t have the necessary effect, often getting lost within an inbox. Now that Microsoft Teams have introduced organisation-wide teams, it is easier to communicate in a collaborative and united team – automatically!

org-wide-teams

With the introduction of organisation-wide teams, global administrators are now able to create public teams easily, automatically inviting every registered user within a business. Membership is kept up-to-date and accurate thanks to Azure Active Directory – saving your admins time, every time an employee joins or leaves the business.

Currently, the limit on an org-wide team is 2,500 users but this could change as user testing is carried out. Setting up an org-wide team is simple: if you meet the requirements, then your business’s admins will see an option to select ‘Org-wide’ (under the Privacy heading) when creating a team.

Add apps to private messages

Another important feature that is now available in Microsoft Teams is the ability to add applications as tabs within private chats. This extremely powerful feature was previously only restricted to discussions within the channel; now individuals are empowered to use a variety of productivity tools that are found within a single view, and get the job done.

What’s the advantage of this? You now have even more flexibility with a much more immediate team when completing tasks; no need to waste time swapping between tasks, alongside reducing human error and have a swifter process flow. Overall, you’ll be working faster in no time!

That’s it for November’s updates of Microsoft Teams; however, it is being updated all the time and be sure to check back next month for further updates.
