Ten days into my new role as Head of Cobweb Sales and waking to thick snow could have been worrying.
With snow affecting travel to work in varying degrees depending on location, we’re snowbound in my neighbourhood, and driving to the office is impossible.
However, knowing that I could still contact all of my team and customers using Office 365 technology meant that I didn’t have any concern. Working from home with Office 365, I could keep me and my kids safe, while still ensuring that Cobweb had me and the team 100 percent productive.
In fact, the snow has had no impact on the team’s sales activities!
We’ve been receiving all our customer calls as normal, through Skype for Business – we’re not even having to rely on our own physical phones – and have answered multiple queries, just as if we were in the office.
We’ve done our weekly pipeline review as normal, using the video and desktop sharing technology in Skype for Business, and while it’s always great to do these things face to face, the Office 365 technology gives you a really good alternative when that’s just not possible.
Business we’ve closed today is still showing to those who are in the office through the Power BI tool that runs on our plasma screen, but it has all been processed remotely through Office 365 Dynamics and our e-signature solution, DocuSign.
What’s great about working for a company like Cobweb is that we don’t just sell these cloud technologies to our customers, we base our own business on them, reaping the benefits they provide.
