Microsoft 365 is the technology company’s latest cloud offering designed to empower the workforce – helping organisations improve productivity as well as enhance security for identity, data, and applications.

Available in Business and Enterprise version, Microsoft 365 brings together Office 365, Windows 10, and Enterprise Mobility + Security (EM+S) in one complete, intelligent, secure solution.

In the modern workplace employees expect the flexibility and convenience of being able to work in the way they want, when and where, and on the device of their choice. At the same time, organisations must address a cyber-security landscape that is growing in complexity – with threats increasing in number – as having to deal with evolving regulatory and compliance demands.

Office 365 combines the familiar Office features – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, for example – with the next generation of productivity-based services, such as Skype for Business Online, Planner, and Delve – and is fast becoming the productivity suite of choice across organisations regardless of size and industry.

Windows 10 is Microsoft’s operating system created to offer the familiarity of Windows with a more personalised experience, while EM+S provides a unified security solution that supports management of mobile devices and desktop PCs from the same administrative environment.

Microsoft 365 Business

Developed for SMBs (with up to 300 users), with Microsoft 365 Business organisations can enable enhanced creativity, while supporting the requirements of an increasingly mobile workforce, and helping teams to stay connected and be able to work together regardless of location.

Secure cloud storage is combined with security features within a simplified security management structure to safeguard identity, data, and applications across a variety of devices – PCs, phones and tablets, for example.

Microsoft 365 Enterprise

Microsoft 365 Enterprise has been created for the larger organisation, with the aim of empowering employees to be productive from any location, collaborate in real time across multiple devices, and to make better, more-informed decisions through utilising insightful data analytics – without sacrificing security.

As with Microsoft 365 Business, the Enterprise version has been designed to enhance the creative potential of the organisation and encourage greater teamwork and collaboration, within a simplified management structure, without compromising and indeed increasing security provision.

Chris Hoard, Cobweb Service Architect, says, “Microsoft 365 is central to Microsoft’s vision of the Modern Workplace; it brings together the best of Office 365, Windows 10 and the Enterprise Mobility and Security suite (EM+S) to address the complexities faced by the modern IT administrator - the explosion of devices, deploying and managing applications across platforms, maintaining compliance and reducing risk whilst protecting an increasingly mobile workforce.

“By delivering increased productivity, greater security and simpler administration; it allows the organisation a route to operate completely in the cloud; no more file servers or local applications or even local active directory. This is what organisations have wanted since the beginning of cloud, and is Microsoft’s most important offering since Office 365 itself."
