The Cloud Industry Forum (CIF) today announced that Cobweb Solutions, one of the largest independent cloud solutions providers in Europe, has become the latest Cloud Service Provider (CSP) to join the growing roster of members.

Established in 2009, the Cloud Industry Forum is the industry body that aims to improve standards and education in the cloud industry. CIF provides transparency through certification via a Code of Practice to endorse credible online CSPs, and assists end users in determining the information to enable them to adopt cloud services.

Cobweb will soon be launching a new suite of services and solutions bringing the promise of the cloud closer to all sizes of business. Many businesses require a clear path through the plethora of cloud choices. Cobweb will unveil a starting point for both small and larger businesses to ‘dip a toe’ into the cloud and map a long term journey that flexes to meet the needs of growing businesses.

Cobweb are joining CIF as it is an exciting time in its history as it progresses from strong foundations as the largest independent hosted exchange provider in Europe. Cobweb are at the forefront of delivering a bespoke cloud portfolio that will transform customer businesses. CIF will allows Cobweb to share expertise with the cloud community and bring it closer to users.

Julian Dyer, CTO and co-founder, Cobweb, said: “Joining CIF demonstrates our dedication to the cause of educating business about cloud technologies and capabilities, and raising standards in the industry. I believe the cloud is an engine for liberating businesses from constraints, and that it is only just beginning to show its power, and we are focused on delivering services that our customers aren’t even dreaming of, yet, from new technologies and communications to UK-based platforms.

“We are keen to be a leading figure in CIF and are starting with a bang by unveiling a cloud forum and networking event featuring James Woudhuysen, futurologist and former professor of forecasting and innovation at De Montfort University; Alex Hilton, CEO, Cloud Industry Forum; Clare Barclay, GM (Small, Medium Solutions and Partner Group), Microsoft UK; Jay Epton, director, Symantec; Tim Holman, president, ISSA; and Andy Cotgreave, tech evangelist, Tableau Software – taking place at Level39, Canary Wharf on 26th February.”

Alex Hilton, CEO of CIF, added: “Cobweb Solutions joins CIF with a stellar reputation and a great deal of experience in hosted and Cloud services. With a focus on reliability, security and support, Cobweb is a prime candidate for CIF membership, and we look forward to working with them towards a trusted, accountable and sustainable Cloud ecosystem for the UK.”
