Microsoft’s Cloud and Hosting Summit in Seattle last week, 21-23 March, ended on a particularly high note for Cobweb MD Michael Frisby as he received the 2017 CSP Momentum Partner of the Year Award.

An opportunity for Microsoft partners as “leaders across the industry” to “connect, build relationships, and share ideas on how to expand and build new services, drive innovation, and create new business opportunities,” (Microsoft Cloud and Hosting Summit website), the annual event was attended by Michael Frisby and Cobweb’s CTO Julian Dyer.

The keynote presentations focused on enabling Digital Transformation with the cloud and the importance of customer success, and a range of breakouts covered more specific topics, including Office 365, Dynamics 365 and Azure.

Michael Frisby was invited to participate on various panels, including presenting with Oliver Herzig, Global VP Product Marketing at Sage, and Harry Nicolaidis, VP Product Management Melbourne IT, at Three Partners Delivering Big Transformation in Small Business – looking at how hosting and cloud service providers help SMBS to transform and grow their business.

A main thread concerned the importance of understanding individual business need and translating cloud service capabilities into measurable business outcomes, and how part of the company heritage in the 20 years since being ‘born in the cloud, has been a willingness to embrace innovation and change as technology and opportunities develop.

A key example cited was Cobweb’s provision of Managed Services, Cobweb Complete, wrapped around Office 365 and Azure. The Cobweb Complete offerings are built on Cobweb’s 20 years’ experience delivering, managing and supporting cloud solutions for SMBs. The aim is to enable customers to get the most from their cloud services, with the services providing:

  • Support – not just for the admin, but also end users
  • Built-in training and guidance resources to provide users with help when they need it
  • Enhanced email scanning services and backup
  • Insights, guidance and recommended optimisations to ensure all services are being used.

The CSP Momentum Partner of the Year Award comes as Vuzion – Cobweb’s value-add cloud aggregator partner – celebrates its first anniversary.

Speaking on receiving the award, Michael Frisby said, “This award reflects all of the hard work of everyone within Cobweb and Vuzion over the last 12 months,” comments Michael, “and I feel very proud and honoured to have been able to collect the award on their behalf!

“We’ve seen a 300% increase in our CSP (cloud solution provider) customer base in the last 12 months and now deliver services to more than 200,000 cloud users.  This award is recognition of a true cross-company effort to deliver this fantastic growth.”
