Cobweb Employees take on the Great South Run

In the middle of this month on the 15^th October 2023, our dedicated colleagues took part in the Great South Run, all in support of Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.

Despite the day being slightly cold, it remained dry, and the sun soon made a welcomed appearance within the 10-mile stretch. The runners pushed through, fuelled by the cheers, fist bumps, and lively music from the many supporters on the side line.

Our team of heroes included Adam Harper, Manda Osborne, David Barnsley-Parsons, and Rob Gray from our partner at Infinigate Cloud UK. Their performance was nothing short of spectacular, with David beating his target by 27 seconds, finishing with a marvellous time of 1:39:33!

So far, our team has raised a remarkable £1,016.40 for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s charity. The charity holds a special place in Cobweb’s heart, as our Billing Manager, David, receives invaluable support for his daughter who has been diagnosed with epilepsy. The dedicated nurses from the charity help not only to David and his family but also to numerous other children facing serious illnesses all across the UK.

David explains, “The London Marathon is a running challenge I never imagined I would be doing however, I am doing this for my daughter and the Marvellous Charity and Roald Dahl Nurses who support us.”

“When Harriet was first diagnosed, as a family, we did not know where to turn or if there was any support for us. The Roald Dahl Nurses have been on hand to provide support and information when we have been unsure. We can contact them via phone or email, which has prevented additional trips to A&E or our local doctors.”
