Work smarter, not harder with Office 365
Stay up-to-date, and save time and money by migrating off-premise to the cloud.
More capabilities are on the way for the uber-capable Microsoft Teams, the Microsoft 365 hub for teamwork that combines chat, video meetings, calling, and files into a single, integrated app. Microsoft says that more than 13 million people are now using Teams daily and more than 19 million people use it weekly. With availability in 53 languages across 181 markets, Teams is now powering teamwork in 53 languages for customers worldwide, including the UAE’s very own award-winning international airline Emirates.
Now Microsoft is stepping up Teams’ capabilities even further making it easier for users to communicate and collaborate.
Announcements allows team members to highlight important news in a channel. Coming soon are channel cross posting which allows users to simultaneously post a single message in multiple channels and channel moderation by which moderators can manage what gets posted in a channel and whether a post accepts replies.
Time Clock a Teams Shifts module feature which lets workers clock in and out of work shifts and breaks right from their Teams mobile app. Managers can geo-fence a location to ensure team members are at the designated worksite when clocking in or out.
Priority notifications and read receipts will roll out later this month ensuring that important messages get through. Priority notifications will alert recipients to time-sensitive messages, pinging a recipient every two minutes on their mobile and desktop until a response is received. Read receipts in chat displays an icon to indicate when a message you sent has been read.
Targeted communication will begin rolling out in August 2019. It allows team members to message everyone in a specific role at the same time by @mentioning the role name in a post. For example, you could send a message to all cashiers in a store or all nurses in a hospital.
Policy packages in the Teams admin center is coming soon enabling IT admins to apply to employees based on their role a pre-defined set of policies across Teams functions, such as messaging and meetings.
Microsoft is working with Five9, Genesys, NICE inContact, and other leading contact center solution providers to enable this integration.
With many industries requiring the recording of calls and meetings, Microsoft is partnering with compliance recording partners to add this capability to Teams.
From August 1, 2019 Microsoft 365 partners will offer customers a free six-month trial to provision the full Teams experience for customers with Exchange Online Only or who haven’t yet moved to the cloud. The trial will be available via Cobweb.
