Microsoft Teams | July 2019 updates

Recent Microsoft 365 and Teams updates have further advanced the reality of the digital workplace for tech-savvy organisations. The newest updates optimise collaboration and mobile working potential which is now gaining momentum in the Gulf with the upswing in Start-up creations.

Unlimited Priory Notifications

A new 'priority notifications' feature will ensure your most urgent messages are addressed quickly. All customers qualify for unlimited priority notifications as part of a promotion that runs until the end of the year. Grab the attention of specific individuals, without an '@' mention, by just typing the person's name, and selecting them from suggestions list just as you would on Facebook!

Keep conversations focused through channel moderation. Selected team owners and members can get exclusive rights to create new posts in a channel, and control whether replies are enabled.

Game-changing meetings and live events for hearing impaired

New live captions and subtitles allow everyone in Teams-hosted meetings and live events to read speaker captions in real-time. This is a game-changer for the hearing impaired, as well as non-native speakers and people in loud environments.

Event feedback help future refinement

Live event usage reports now help visualise data and reporting which is essential feedback to improve future events. Data includes usage information, views, event status and individuals who schedule/present/produce live events.

Rooms for improvement

Updates to Microsoft Teams Rooms will enhance meetings. These include new themes and imagery for room displays, additional meeting controls and the function to rate call quality now that Skype for Business has been retired. And Microsoft Whiteboard can now be used in Microsoft Teams Rooms.

Teams' real-world admin

The Network Planner preview helps admins calculate network requirements for deploying Teams and cloud voice throughout an organisation's real-world locations.

Frontline goes mobile

In Teams Shifts, the new time clock lets frontline staff clock in and out of work shifts/breaks via the mobile app. Managers can geo-fence locations to ensure team members are where they say they are.
